Summers in the Washington are some of the most beautiful summers in the country, and August brings the beauty of sunflowers. This Sunflower farm in SW Washington is one of my favorite locations for family sessions, running around barefoot during a warm evening while the sunsets behind us at O’Keefe Farms in Vancouver Washington is the definition of happiness.

The beautiful thing about this location is that its great on cloudy days, and sunny days. It’s also a great spot for couples photos, not just families. Last season a client of mine decided it was the perfect backdrop for their pregnancy announcement. They also allow dogs, which is a huge win!

I think my absolute favorite thing about shooting in the sunflowers is that its perfect for kids, the farm isn’t huge so it’s easy to keep track of littles as they run and play! I always encourage clients to be barefoot to get that more wild and free vibe with their kids. We spend the whole session running and playing, and that allows the kids to have fun while getting their photos taken.
