The Columbia River Gorge (Off I-84 & Washington Side)

The Columbia River Gorge offers endless spots for stunning PNW family photos on both sides of the river. Off I-84 in Oregon, you’ll find golden meadows, dramatic cliffs, and beautiful trees that turn vibrant in the fall. On the Washington side, expect sweeping views of the Columbia River, lush wildflowers in early summer, and tall brassy grass under soft pink and blue skies by late summer. This area is beautiful year-round, providing plenty of gorgeous options for your next session.

Local Parks Near Battle Ground & Salmon Creek

These nearby parks are filled with towering trees perfect for shade in the morning—ideal for families with young kids. They transform beautifully in fall with colorful leaves and are easy to walk to, making them great for capturing natural moments all year long. Plus, these parks often have open grassy areas, winding trails, and little nooks full of ferns and flowers, creating endless backdrops for playful, relaxed family photos. Whether you want a cozy woodland feel or bright open spaces, these parks deliver beautiful variety with minimal travel needed.

The Oregon Coast

The Oregon Coast is one of my all-time favorite places for family photo sessions. With wide-open sandy beaches, dramatic cliffs, and soft rolling waves, it offers a stunning natural backdrop that feels effortlessly beautiful. Sessions at the coast are all about movement and connection—running barefoot, splashing in the waves, and just enjoying time together as a family. The best part? Most kids don’t even realize they’re being photographed—they’re just playing! I typically schedule these sessions an hour before sunset to capture that dreamy golden hour light. From April through early September, the coast is at its most vibrant, with glowing skies and milder weather. Whether you’re walking hand-in-hand along the shoreline or snuggling in a blanket watching the tide come in, coastal sessions are always full of joy and magic.
